While there are a lot of joys in the world, nothing is to be compared with the joy people feel when they experience spiritual awakening through culture. In the face of competition, and amidst trials and failure, we find comfort and get new life in one single sentence or one single picture. Thus, Gaudium, a Latin meaning 'joy' or 'bliss', carries the corporate philosophy committed to attaining ecstatic exultation.
Since the company was created on May 20, 2014, we have exerted ourselves incessantly to realize this goal. We have introduced a new exhibition trend by leading the tour of the exhibition, ’Masterpieces with Monica‘, commemorating its establishment, and another exhibition, ‘Western Women who Loved Korea’, (organized by the company in 2016). In 2017, we will hold ‘Muse of Paris: Marie Laurencin’, the country’s first exhibition of Marie Laurencin, a female painter who pioneered her own world of beauty. In addition, we have been developing business in various fields such as events, culture planning and culinary culture, including ‘The Very’, social media sharing service to curate books, culture, lifestyle news, information, etc. Our efforts will be continuing to discover new values through convergence, breaking down barriers between cultures.
We at Gaudium will also play a role as a culture messenger to let the world know about Korea’s spiritual culture and introduce various cultures to Korea. Based on our CEO's experience in planning and producing such events as 'Korean Wave Putting on Hanbok' (2006), 'Miss Korea Hanbok Fashion Show' (2008), which was a private event in exchange with Vietnam, and 'Korean Food Cooking Competition in New york for its Globalization' (2009-2010), we want to join the journey in discovering and promoting the value of Korean culture in the world.
